Just a quick reminder that the next meeting is on the 28th of February, so less than a week away. It’s an open workshop session, so bring trees that need a bit of work.
- Early deciduous species such as Kiyohime and Trident maples that are starting to show growth and need repotting.
- Trees that need pruning for branch refinement. This is best done before new growth starts to keep the tree from wasting energy on buds that will then be removed later.
- Junipers and Larches can be wired to refine the branch placement.
Even if you have no trees that need any work, please bring along a tree for the display table. This is a new thing for this year, where you can show off a tree that looks good at this time of year.
For this month, this could be a nice evergreen or a broad-leaf tree with good branch structure and ramification.
